AMLC Speaker Series Presents: Andrew Mayz

Join us Wednesday, May 6th @ 11:30 AM in HW1639 to hear from accomplished producer Andrew Mayz!

Andrew Mayz is an award-winning archival producer, producer, researcher, and writer. His recent credits include the Sundance Film Festival 2026 selection Give Me the Ball! for ESPN on tennis icon and women’s rights activist Billie Jean King; DOC NYC 2025 selection EVERYONE IS LYING TO YOU FOR MONEY investigating the world of cryptocurrency; Amazon Prime’s GO DEEP: THE DESEAN JACKSON STORY chronicling the NFL star’s family and path to professional football; and Netflix’s THE ANTI-SOCIAL NETWORK exploring the rise of 4chan. In 2025, Andrew received a News & Documentary Emmy Award for HBO’s MURDER IN BOSTON: ROOTS, RAMPAGE & RECKONING. Previously, he earned a 2024 FOCAL International Award for Best Use of Footage in a Sports Production for Netflix’s Bill Russell: Legend. Outside of film, Andrew’s writing on rap and hip-hop has been published by Pitchfork Media, and his one-act chamber opera OPERAbbit was featured as part of New York OperaFest 2018
